Eastchester Schools Lockout Lifted

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. - A temporary lockout of Eastchester Schools has been lifted by local police, and schools will proceed with regular dismissals.

According to reports, shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, schools were put on a lockout, after a man reportedly called police in a suicidal state on White Plains Road, near the Middle and High Schools.

During a lockout, students and faculty operate as normal inside the building, but the doors are shuttered to visitors. Police officials are still investigating the incident and offered no additional details.
