Eastchester Schools Private School Transportation Requests Are Due In April

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Eastchester Union Free School District reminds residents that 2015-16 private school transportation written requests are due on April 1.

Application forms can be obtained from the Eastchester Union Free School District Board of Education, Transportation Office, 580 White Plains Rd., Eastchester, NY, 10709 or downloaded from the district web site at http://district.eastchesterschools.org/m/mod/data/view.php?d=25&rid=1118. 

A new written application must be made annually for each new school year for each student attending private or parochial school.

Applications submitted after Wednesday, April 1 will not be approved, in accordance with state law. Parents undecided as to which school their child will be attending, multiple applications may be sent prior to the deadline.

A final decision from the applications submitted are made after April 1, but no later than July 1. Families who move into the district after April 1 must submit an application within 30 days of establishing residence.

In accordance with New York State Education Law, the Eastchester Union Free School District will furnish transportation for students to attend the private or parochial school of choice, up to the statutory limit of 15 miles.

Students in grades K-5 are eligible for transportation if they currently reside more than half mile from the school of choice and students in grades 6-12 are eligible if they reside more than one mile from the school of choice. Residents requesting transportation to private or parochial schools must be registered with the Eastchester School District.
