Eastchesters Tuckahoe Union Free School District Joins Hour Of Code

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Tuckahoe Union Free School District joined the largest computer science learning event, "The Hour of Code,” in celebration of Computer Science Education Week from Dec. 8-14.

The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics and explore what coding in computer science is all about.

Tuckahoe Union is joining students worldwide to reach 100 million students. Last year, 15 million students tried computer science in one week.

The world is surrounded by technology, and whatever field students choose to go into as adults will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. However, only a tiny fraction of students are learning computer science, and fewer students are studying it than a decade ago.
