Trinity Elementary School Principal Anthony DiCarlo announced that he would be resigning his position on Feb. 16, when he will travel north to take the helm in Mahopac after six years in New Rochelle.

DiCarlo, a graduate of Iona College, has served as principal at Trinity since 2012 and is a longtime resident of Mahopac. He has previously taught in Yonkers and served in administrative positions in Harrison, Tuckahoe, Lakeland and in New Rochelle. DiCarlo also served for six years on the Putnam County Legislature beginning in 2004.

Following the February recess, Ken Levy, a retired elementary school principal, will serve as interim principal at Trinity while the district kicks off a nationwide search for DiCarlo’s permanent replacement.

In a letter to families, DiCarlo said that “(he) has the deepest gratitude and affection for the (school district) and the Trinity Community.”

“I have loved spending each day with the students, faculty and families over the past six years. I know they will continue to work tirelessly to provide a high quality education for your children.”
