EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Many Waverly School classes recently participated in the annual "World Read Aloud Day" that is aimed at getting people of all ages to read across the world.

The day, started in 2010 by the organization LitWorld, is celebrated by millions of people in more than 100 countries across the globe. It motivates children, teens, and adults to celebrate the power of words.

On this day, everyone is asked to celebrate the importance of reading day by grabbing a book, finding an audience, and reading out loud.
