During “Upstanders Week,” members of the high school are collecting goods that will be used to benefit Hope’s Door, an organization that prevents domestic abuse and provides shelter to victims and families of abuse.

The high school is looking for its such as sun block, beach toys, outdoor items, sporting equipment, beach towels, flip flops and other goods that are prevalent during the dog days of summer.

All items must be new and unused, even gently used donations will not be accepted. Goods can be dropped off in the Tuckahoe Middle-High School lobby.

The district also asks that all residents join students and wear purple – the national color for domestic violence awareness – on Wednesday to raise awareness of the international issue.
