This is a preschool program conducted with a qualified teacher and two assistants in every class. The children attend five days a week, 12:15-2:45 p.m., for 180 days per school year. There is no cost.
Applications must be returned by Feb. 1 to Tuckahoe UFSD, Universal Pre-K Program, Attention Deborah Arena, 65 Siwanoy Blvd., Eastchester, N.Y. 10709
It’s anticipated the funding awarded will limit enrollment. A lottery will be conducted in mid to late February. The first day of school is Monday, Sept. 12.
Eligible families are defined as those who live in the Tuckahoe School District and have children who will be four years old by Dec. 1, 2016.
When you return the completed application, include the following copies that the district will keep:
- Child’s Proof of Age (i.e., birth certificate, passport, baptismal certificate, etc.)
- Immunization Record, signed and stamped by physician
- Proof of residency in the district by providing the following original documents: Property Owners---Original deed, property or school tax bill, mortgage statement or homeowners’ insurance policy plus any two of the following current bills: utility bill, (Con Edison, Internet, telephone) Renters--- Original signed lease plus any two of the following current bills utility bill (Con Edison, Internet, telephone)
