Sarah Lawrence College Names New Vice President

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Lyn Chamberlin has been chosen as the new vice president of marketing and communications at Sarah Lawrence College. She was previously the vice president of external affairs at Vermont College of Fine Arts.

“We are delighted to welcome Lyn Chamberlin, who brings extensive experience leading and managing communications and marketing efforts in higher education, nonprofit and the for-profit sectors, to Sarah Lawrence College,” President Karen Lawrence said.

Chamberlin will begin her duties in mid-September. She has experience in several fields – directing communications, marketing programs and public relations, and branding campaigns for universities, as well as nonprofits and retail brands.

Before she began working at VCFA, Chamberlin ran a brand and digital marketing consulting firm. Other positions she has held were director of business development at MIT, executive director of communications at Radcliffe College and director of communications at Harvard University.

She had previously worked for CBS News and NBC News in television programming and news production. She graduated from Columbia University and earned a master of fine arts degree from VCFA.

Sarah Lawrence College is a coed, liberal arts college. There are about 1,300 students in the undergraduate program and 340 students participating in the 11 graduate programs. Some of the well-known graduates of the college are Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, actress Julianna Margulies, creator and producer J.J. Abrams, journalist Barbara Walters and writer Alice Walker.
