EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Students will have a chance to show off all they have learned and experienced in English language arts at the “ELA Extravaganza” on Friday, April 1,  the next event in the annual Curriculum Olympics at the Anne Hutchinson School.

The event, which takes place from 9 to 10 a.m., is an opportunity for parents to share some time in their child's classroom and learn ways to support them at home with reading and writing, said Principal Theresa Cherry

The U.S. Department of Education states: “The amount and degree of parent involvement is the most influential factor in determining students’ success in school.” I

The remaining Curriculum Olympics events are the "ELA Extravaganza,” “Arts Festival," “Field Day,” and “Science Olympiad.”

For each Curriculum Olympics event that a parent attends, they will receive a ticket which will be tallied. The class that has the most participation on a grade will receive a pizza party and the grade level with the most participation will receive an ice cream party sponsored by the Parent Teacher Association.

More information about registering will be available in an upcoming PTA email blast and a flier in student's backpack.

The school is at 60 Mill Road. For information, call (914)-793-6130.
