Tuckahoe Board Of Ed Names NYC Administrator As New HS/MS Asst. Principal

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. - The Tuckahoe Board of Education is turning to a seasoned educator to serve as the school district’s newest Assistant Principal at the Middle-High School.

With Carrie Amon coming over from Mamaroneck to fill the vacancy at Middle School Principal, the district have tabbed an Scott DeBellis from New York City Public School System to succeed former Assistant Principal Peter Carlucci, who recently accepted the position of principal at the Haldane High School.

DeBellis has been teaching for more than a decade, including the last seven years where he served as assistant principal at Lehman High School. Prior to his time as an administrator, DeBellis was a physical education teacher and head varsity wrestling coach at the school.

With the hire announced, DeBellis will official begin as assistant principal in Tuckahoe on Thursday, Sept. 1.

“His references from he New York City Public Schools were very strong,” Schools Superintendent Carl Albano said. “We believe his experience with a wide range of building level administrative responsibilities will enable him to make a smooth transition to the assistant principal position in our school district.
