Father Eric Raaser, the pastor for the school, and Principal Maureen Harten joined the students as they visited St. Christopher’s School and Our Lady Queen of Peace to deliver donations collected by students and parents following the hurricane.
The school has already collected $4,000, which it sent to the two schools. An additional $2,000 was raised during the Thanksgiving collection from parish masses, and that money was used to purchase gift cards from Toys-R-Us to get gifts for children affected by the storm.
Other gift cards have been donated to the cause by Immaculate Conception School families. Letters and Christmas cards have also been written to students and staff at both schools.
Banners proclaiming “ICS sends a ferry load of good wishes to OLQP/St. Christopher’s” have been prepared, and will be delivered along with baked goods, candy canes and homemade paper wreaths.
