Tuckahoe Passes $30.8M Budget, Buonocore Ousted On Board

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. – Nearly 70 percent of voters in Tuckahoe approved the school district’s $30.8 million budget for the 2013-2014 school year.

The spending plan passed 459-202, good for 69 percent of all voters. It represents a 3.2 percent increase from the current $29.9 million budget.

In a surprise result, incumbent Anthony Buonocore (296 votes), who has been on the board for 15 years, lost his seat to Catherine Canal-Reichelt (361). Current president Julio Urbina will retain his seat after garnering 351 votes.

Stacey Alexander and Eboni Alexander each saw their bids for election fall short, with 252 and 225 votes, respectively.
