The recommendation seeks to improve the following concerns: 1) increase safety for students while in and around the drop-off and pick-up zone, and 2) separate parent, pedestrian and bus traffic during arrival and dismissal times. A student drop-off/pick-up zone was created on Middle Road at the rear of the building. This will allow cars to pull over on the curb-side of the school building to keep students from having to cross the street.

The attached map shows the recommended traffic patterns which will optimize student safety and reduce congestion from the bus unloading and loading zone located on Siwanoy Boulevard. William E. Cottle School: The student drop-off and pick-up zone remains in place on the corner of Ridge Street and Siwanoy Boulevard. This zone also allows cars to pull over on the curb-side of the school building to keep students from having to cross the street. The attached map shows the recommended traffic patterns which will optimize student safety and reduce congestion from the bus unloading and loading zone located on Crawford Street. The parking capacity has expanded within the Middle/High School lot to include visitor and handicapped parking.
