The special honoree at this year’s event is George Albano, principal of the William E. Cottle Elementary School.
Albano is a renowned educator whose work at Mount Vernon’s Lincoln Elementary School, where he served as principal for 31 years, has been recognized by former U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige as well as Peabody Award Winning journalist John Merrow.
He has been featured in articles in The New York Times, the Washington Post and USA Today. In 2010, Mr. Albano spoke about education issues at the United Nations.
Tickets to this evening of fun, food and prizes are $100 in advance or $110 at the door which includes a cocktail hour, dinner buffet and an evening of Las Vegas style table games.
