TUCKAHOE, N.Y. --The Tuckahoe Board of Education has appointed Austin Goldberg as director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics effective July 1.
Goldberg, who was appointed at the board's regular meeting on April 19, will be replacing Interim Athletic Director Al Visconti in an expanded leadership role that includes the oversight of Tuckahoe’s kindergarten through 12th grade health and physical education programs.
Goldberg holds a bachelor of science degree in human services from the University of Hartford, a master of Science in physical rducation from Adelphi University, and completed graduate courses in school building leadership and school district leadership at the State University at Stony Brook. He has New York State certifications in physical education, health and school district leader. For the past three years, Austin Goldberg has served as the Athletic Coordinator in the East Ramapo Central School District. He has also taught health, physical education and coached various sports in East Ramapo for the past ten years.
"Mr. Goldberg will serve in a K-12 capacity overseeing physical education, health and athletics. His background and scope of responsibility will enable him to improve learning in the classrooms as well as on the athletic fields and courts. This will promote more student awareness of healthier lifestyles and wellness education, along with improving our athletic programs," stated Interim Schools Superintendent Charles Wilson.
