World-Acclaimed Astrophysicist Details Latest Missions At Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson spoke about his latest missions earlier this month during Manhattanville College's "Castle Conversations."

The world-acclaimed astrophysicist served on a 2001 government commission that studied the future of the U.S. aerospace industry and was awarded the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal. 

Tyson hosted "NOVA ScienceNow" on PBS from 2006-11, the 2014 series "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" and currently hosts the weekly podcast "Star Talk." 

The U.S. National Academy of Science awarded the Public Welfare Medal to Tyson in 2015 for his role in getting the public excited about science.

Tyson has authored several books on astronomy, such as "Space Chronicles: Facing the Ultimate Frontier" and "Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries."
