Area Players Put On The Pads For Charity At Pace Football Camp

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The Pace University football team held its annual free youth clinic on Sunday, Aug. 21, at Pace Stadium on Pace's Westchester campus. Over 100 kids from the tri-state area participated in the event, which marked an exciting day for the kids, student-athletes and coaches.

The 109 players who attended the clinic received football instruction by Pace student-athletes and coaches, and played games from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. They also received giveaways and had the opportunity to have 2016 Pace Football schedule posters signed by the college players.

"It's really neat to see kids running around and having fun at Pace Stadium," said Head Football Coach Andrew Rondeau. "I'm glad we could start this up again. When it's associated with a good cause like the 'DJ Dream Fund,' that's a neat effect as well."

During the clinic, the Pace football team received over $300 in donations for the DJ Dream Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to the memory of former Pace football student-athlete Danroy "DJ" Henry. The DJ Dream Fund's mission is to share DJ's love of sports by providing financial resources to enable children and young adults to say "YES" to healthy lifestyles through athletics, wellness and arts programs.

The Setters open their season on Thursday, Sept. 1, with a 7:00 p.m. matchup at Millersville University. They will then host defending NE-10 Champion Assumption College on Friday, Sept. 9, in their home opener at Pace Stadium. Kickoff for the home opener is set for 7:00 p.m. For single-game or season tickets and VIP packages, click here.
