Founded by Donald Gunther and his support team and coaches in 2011,  CUCD the centers on having players from all economic and ethnic groups play together in organized leagues like Amateur Athletic Union, Tri-County Basketball League and House of Sports (Ardsley).

Gunther said the club is continuing to grow and has trained a number of players who have gone on to local high school basketball programs.

We decided to further expand our program which at one time only had Eastchester Tuckahoe and Bronxville school district kids," Gunther said. "Now we have a good amount from Tuckahoe, Eastchester and Bronxville with players at Mount St. Michael, Iona Prep, Rye Neck and many others schools coming to support and play for Children Understanding Cultural Differences basketball."

Gunther said he has found that CUCD players are maturing and learning to work with each other and mentoring younger players.

"I have the freshman and sophmores from the Tuckahoe High School varsity team that I cultivated since eight years of age in my programs," Gunther said. "With (Tuckahoe player) Max Pierce's help we hope to use this as a feeder system for Tuckahoe along with Eastchester and Bronxville children."

Gunther's vision is to support a 16-under team and two 15-under age group teams as his younger players grow

"The boys and their parents are excited," Our 16-Under team will play in featured tournaments to showcase the talent," Gunther said.
