Concordia Signs 6 For Women’s Soccer Program

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Concordia College women’s soccer head coach Kelci Hegg has announced six signings to the program for the 2016 season. The class includes three signees from California, two from Massachusetts and one from New York.

Detailed information on the signings is as follows: 

  • Sara Calvert, forward/attacking mid, 5-foot-3, Apple Valley, Calif. 
    • High School: Oak Hills Club
    • SoCal Rush/Texas Rush ECNL Accomplishments: First-team All-Conference; MVP of the Mojave River Conference 2013; 29 goals and 17 assists in two years at Oak Hills.
  • Hannah Deknikker, outside defender/midfielder, 5-foot-2, Davis, Calif. 
    • High School: Davis Senior High School Club
    • Davis Legacy SC Accomplishments: Two-year varsity starter; club is currently No. 1 in the country in the U-19; helped lead her high school team to a 17-2-1 record as a junior with No. 29 rank in the country, No. 4 in California. 
  • Taylor Luxoro, forward/outside midfielder, 4-foot-11, Staten Island, N.Y. 
    • High School: Susan E. Wagner Club
    • Silver Lake Academy Accomplishments: Four-year varsity player; captain of her high school team; tallied 54 goals and 31 assists in high school; and was a two-time advance all-star honoree.
  • Miranda Merino, midfielder/defender, 5-foot-4, Victorville, Calif. 
    • High School: Oak Hills Club
    • SoCal Rush Accomplishments: Three-year captain; two-time All-Conference honoree; named to the National Rush Select Team
  • Stephanie Wilczynski, goalkeeper, 5-foot-7, Shrewsbury, Mass. 
    • High School: Shrewsbury Senior High School Club 
    • Boston Breakers Academy/ODP Mass Accomplishments: Four-year varsity starter; ODP Region 1 starting keeper; amassed 1.88 GAA and save percentage of 87 percent in high school.
  • Caitlin Ziemba, midfielder, 5-foot-5, Assonet, Mass. 
    • High School: Apponequet Club
    • NEFC Accomplishments: Four-year varsity member; helped lead team to three conference championships; led high school team to an undefeated regular-season senior year.
