Eastchester Blue Devils Football Tackles Ramapo

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. - The Eastchester Blue Devils Youth Football program won two games of a three-game set against Ramapo-Spring Valley on Oct. 14 to set the tone for the remainder of the season.

The Blue Devils Junior Pee Wees improved to 4-2-0 with a strong defensive performance in a 13-6 victory at Spring Valley High School. The defense was led by Jack Brien, Nick LoParrino, Marc LoParrino and Andrew Lubrino. Perry Guilianti, Dean Calby, Roger Burwell and Bobby Blair also added to the defensive effort with Blair making a key interception to stop a Ramapo threat.

Eastchester's offense featured strong blocking by Anthony Fernandez, Riku Ishida, Jordan Espaillat and Karan Mehta. The Blue Devils scored on touchdown runs by Jack Brien and Marc LoParrino. LoParrino put the game away with his 40-yard scoring run with four minutes left.

Blue Devils Mitey Mites, 7, Ramapo 6

The Eastchester Mighty Mites used a staunch defense and a fourth-quarter comeback to wrestle a 7-6 win from Ramapo, lifting their record to 5-0.

Down 6-0, Blue Devils quarterback Angelo Sperandio orchestrated a late drive and completed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Henry Donohue for the winning score. Dean Schepisi and Jamie Padilla led the Blue devils running game.

The defense was led by lineman Luca Zingaro and Chris Montero, who had key tackles. Daniel Cade had a key interception to stop a Ramapo scoring threat.

The Blue Devil Pee Wees played another close game and were edged by Ramapo 19-18.
