EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The host Lake Isle swim team battled Westchester Country Club swimmers stroke for stroke Wednesday with the final meet of the dual-meet season ending in a 235-235 tie at Lake Isle Pool.

“It was another one of those nail biters and it all came down to the relays,” Lake Isle Swim team co-chairperson Jill Saffin said. “Lake Isle ended the season with four wins, zero losses and one tie.”

Lake Isle was led by tripled winner Nick Torres, who won the boys 10-and-under backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, and double winner Chris Torres, the 8-and-under boys’ freestyle and breaststroke winner.

Westchester was led by T. Speres, winner of the 12-and-under boys freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly, Kelly Delane (14-and-under freestyle, backstroke, butterfly), Andrew Stotesbury (14-and-under boys freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly) and triple winner Emma Madden, who won the 17-and-under girls freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. Avery Sammons (8-under girls), Emmy Sammons (10-under girls) and Timmy Perley (17-under boys) also won two races for Westchester.
