EASTCHESTER, N.Y. — Rye is looking to rebound from a loss while Eastchester is aiming to get into the win column when the teams meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in a Section 1 Class A football game.

Both teams need a win in order to keep their respective playoff hopes alive.

The Garnets are 1-1 following their 14-0 loss to Sleepy Hollow last week. Sleepy Hollow had two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

The Eagles are 0-2 after a 46-7 defeat to defending Section 1 Class A champion Poughkeepsie. A third loss would seriously hamper Eastchester’s playoff hopes. Through two games, the Eagles have surrendered 66 points.

Rye’s defense, led by Andrew Aquilino, played a strong game, despite surrendering an 82-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. That was Sleepy Hollow's only offensive score.
