EASTCHESTER, N.Y. — Trailing by four touchdowns midway through the fourth quarter Saturday, the Eastchester High School football team displayed something coach Fred DiCarlo felt was missing the previous week.
“I definitely saw a lot more fight in the second half than I did last week,” DiCarlo said. “The offense moved the ball consistently and we had some nice runs. This gives us something to build on.”
Eastchester scored two touchdows in the fourth quarter of a 35-13 loss to Rye in a Section 1 Class A football game.
Michael Marsico plunged in from the 1 to put Eastchester on the board. Following a Rye touchdown, fullback Jake Scannell went off tackle and rumbled in from 15 yards.
“We have to keep fighting,” said DiCarlo, as Eastchester fell to 0-3. “We will continue to keep working and get better with each practice and each game.”
