The Chapel School - which serves residents throughout the lower Hudson Valley - is looking for runners of all skill levels to submit their applications for consideration as a member of Team Chapel, with those chosen each guaranteed a spot in this year’s TCS New York City Marathon.
As an official charity partner, runners participating on Team Chapel - which was established in 2011 - will be raising money for The Chapel School Scholarship Fund, which helps support scholarship assistance for students in need that may not have otherwise been able to afford to attend the school.
“For many students, the cost of tuition requires that they either receive financial help or enroll in another academic setting, which may not provide the academic excellence and emotional support that The Chapel School offers so well,” Kim Zwisdak, the Development Office Project Manager at The Chapel School said.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Team Chapel as an official charity partner of the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon,” Michael Rodgers, vice president of development and philanthropy for New York Road Runners, stated. “Participants in our official charity partner program run for causes that are important to them, while raising critical funds that directly impact hundreds of charity organizations. We are inspired by the thousands of runners who take part in this program and wish them all the best as they begin their incredible journeys to the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon.”
Members of Team Chapel are expected to raise several thousand dollars each, with a collective goal of no less than $15,000. Those that join are guaranteed entry into the marathon.
