The school is collecting lightly used (or new) books, sports equipment and school supplies. Donated items will be distributed to children in need. The school also is collecting used cell phones to help domestic violence prevention organizations and local shelters.

Check your closets, toy boxes and garage for balls, gloves, cleats and other sports equipment that you are no longer using, and take a moment to clear unwanted books off your shelves.

Through Jan. 11, you can bring items to collection boxes located in the entrance way at the following locations:

• Cottle School • Tuckahoe High School • Tuckahoe Community Center (Noon to 5 p.m. weekdays) • Tuckahoe High School Gym (1-6 p.m. Saturdays)

If you have any questions, please contact head football Coach John D’Arco at 914-231-0229 or Janna Conybeare at 915-224-6923.
