Tuckahoe's Jubilee Tackles American International

TUCKAHOE, N.Y. – Jonathan Jubilee is a big man with a big plan on his way to American International College this week after graduating Tuckahoe High School, a student/athlete academically and as two-way lineman for the 2010 New York State Class D football champions.

“Well, the move is going to be a new experience for me especially coming from a small-town school,” the 6-4, 250-pound lineman said. “However, with the support of family and friends and my faith in God I look for a very rewarding experience in new endeavors.”

Jubilee, who was also a member of the Tigers’ Section 1 Class D basketball championship team, was a three-year starter who led the way on the front line on both sides of the ball. His constant smile off the field made him a favorite of his coaches and teammates. The Tigers went unbeaten in Class D football at 10-1, losing just once all season to Class C Bronxville, which won a state title in its class with a 12-0 record.

Jubilee is looking forward to a new experience as a player and a student at the Springfield, Massachusetts college, which plays an Northeast-10 Conference football schedule. Jubilee fans will be able to see him play locally in the Yellow Jacket’s season opener at C.W. Post in Brookville, Long Island and in the regular-season finale at nearby Pace University in Pleasantville.

“As for football, I look to learn at this level and become the best player I can be,” Jubilee said. “I plan on working hard in school to earn my degree in political science. I’m leaving (Tuesday) and I ready to go the next step in my life.”
