Apologies to halmarc and wants-to-be-heard -- I wasn't attacking anyone's credibilty .. I did not vote for Paul Feiner so I am not defending him. I just read the comments here and it seems halmarc, who may very well be objective and right in his criticisms, has a hard lean against Feiner. I appreciate the deep involvement many residents have and agree that Mr. Feiner should be vetted. But that is why we have elections. This particular subject -- the Frank's property -- is out in the open and the comments here are helpful. View Comment
Thanks for the explanation halmarc, but as far as I can see you may not be the most objective voice on the Voice or on Feiner.
The fact that House of Sports threatened to sue seems to explain why Feiner may have moved... no?
I haven't seen another report on the "new deal" anywhere yet. This Friday night report seems to have been quickly posted to inform us about House of Sports deal. Whether Mr. Feiner is "scamming" us or not, the report informs and gives us the opportunity to comment.. that's not a bad deal huh?
But I receive emails from the Daily Voice and they include comments made here. That's how I saw your comment. View Comment
As far as I can see..the second paragraph in this story explains the deal .. although the report is not extensive as are most of the web news stories these days..it says.
"The Greenburgh Town Board was presented with a $3 million offer by Game On, but House of Sports submitted an offer worth $500,000 more and threatened a lawsuit if the land was sold to Game On."
And Mr. Scherer's comments also refer to the "better deal". Anyone who reads without prejudice gets it.
This article implies that Mr. Feiner saw the light and made the better deal. Comments here in previous articles have offered both sides of the argument on the property and often rip Feiner for nearly everything he does.
Seems this is a forum that is open for comment to halmarc and others who have something to say. So, why criticize the forum.

Lots of anger out there.
I guess the word "incorrectly" and a correction and explanation are not enough for the acute critics out there. I appreciate the note on tax filing. We all make mistakes. View Comment
Mr. Coniglio, congrats on the 20 years of work with local seniors. I don't see why this space should a forum for cranky people who never see the good in anything, but free speech, you know. All the best in your retirement -- especially with your volunteer work. View Comment
Seems like progress is being made on use of another unused property -- hopefully several famlies will find affordable housing in Westchester. Greenburgh and the Rivertowns communities are good places to live if you can afford it.
And I enjoy the fact that the news is reported in a clear and quick manner and residents and others are allowed to comment at length.
Kudos to those who commented here.. Freedom of Speech is alive despite whether we agree or disagree. There is so much news to process.

With a low interest rate near 3.25 percent, a bond to do capital improvements is a good idea. And... a full track and synthetic, all-sports field can be rented to clubs and organizations to help defray the cost long term. Hastings could use a food recreation facility. View Comment
Great to see a local star like Ray Rice get to this goal. He is a real role model because he gives back to the kids who live where he lived. View Comment
Looks like a whole era pf players is being smacked with this swing of the bat. We'll never, ever know which players used PEDs. Sad, but Mike Piazza is being left out because he "looked" like he was dong steroids.

The Jets need to win games... but putting Tebow in as a starter might be rough on him. Maybe give Sanchez three more starts to get his team back to .500 ..If he doesn't get it done, let Tebow have the last four games of the season to see what he can do. View Comment
It's a great event, but the city may have too much on its plate to be dealing with the logistics of this kind of five-borough event. Maybe the loss of revenue -- $300 million or more -- is the reason for the going on with it. View Comment
Coach DeMatteo was my junior high gym coach... the man was a leader from early on. He not only taught us how to be physically better, but how to be leaders and how to be committed to everything we did in life. Congrats Coach.

The Yankees have won so often and spend so much money on players that they are expected to win every year. But good pitching wins series.. and the Tigers were just a bit better. They do need to makes some changes. Look for pitching first and a couple of young hitters. View Comment
