So - they should just get away with murder? If they are not in the mood to talk, or feel like holding back life saving info, it's just fine? This is a war we are talking about. A war against western civilization and freedom. They choose to kill us- we should have just shot the second scumbag too, if we cannot question him. What is the value of keeping him alive? Someone want to answer that? View Comment

May I ask for some more specifics on this security plan? While I understand that ALL security items may not be disclosed, please answer this. Will a police officer be present at the school full time? Very simple question. The only risk associated with disclosing this is if there is NOT an officer posted. If there is a cop permanently at PReS i want everyone to know. I am reading too much ' political speak here". Eg: meaningful police presence but they will not say how and when it will be deployed. There was a poll posted that was very simple and i commend the Voice for asking peoples opinions. And, by the way, people responded. Why can the town board not simply say YES or NO to the cop question - long term. Miss Boak is quoted saying 'it is a serious matter and we are taking a measured and responsible approach'. I am sorry, but what the heck does that mean? (I can answer it - nothing) Please advise the town on if a full time officer has been approved or not? I am sure none of you would be pleased or accept this 'non-specific' response to an important issue, whether from a politician or a rental car clerk. You know very well that people would like and deserve an answer - a clear answer. Then we can all move on. View Comment
I see that the 'ISSUE OF DUMPSTERS' was raised by the Pound Ridge Partnership in March of 2010. We are talking about 3 years ago. It is clear to me that the group is not very good at getting the job done. 3 years to discuss covering a handful of dumpsters? Meetings, analysis" and hiring consultants to change a few freaking lamp posts? What exactly does the PR Partnership do, and what have they accomplished? I see article after article about charming, yet really small ideas, and nothing is getting done anyway. I am sorry, but do certain people just want their name in print? Stop talking and get something done. A study? Do you just like to hear yourselves talk? I applaud you all volunteering your time in the name of doing good, but I hope nobody in the group ends up in a position of authority. We will end up back in the Stone Age. View Comment
I am curious to know Mrs Boak's opinion on Senator Menendez (D-NJ) and the allegations against him. He is accused of having sex with under aged prostitutes in the Domenican Republic. ( In addition to numerous claims of accepting inappropriate gifts). If there is even a slim chance that the underage sex claims are valid, they must be investigated, and if true he should be severely punished. Being that he is a public figure and a politician, do you support a full investigation of these claims? If you had the power to do so, how would you pursue the truth of this haynais claim? i must agree with Joe here. If they want to clean up the village, start by asking the antique shop to take in the trash. If my husband ever had 10% of that stuff around the house i would divorce him. I imagine there are ordinances about 'stuff' on the sidewalk, etc. If not, there should be. The fist thing you see when coming into town from New Canaan is that corner shop (with old street signs, neon clocks, busted BBQ grills, 8 old ladders, Obama stickers and other junk) which is really an eye-sore. If there is no LAW to clean it up, at least ask nicely. If you claim light pollution, that certainly merits a claim for sight pollution. This village could be SO CUTE AND COZY, but it really is not there. A few really simple things need to be cleaned up at very little $$ - dumpsters, few coats of paint, and make the storefront designs somewhat consistent. If you do get new street lights, please dim them at night on the corner in front of the shop - it is scary. View Comment
I am hearing a lot of chatter about cops at schools. As a mom, I think we should have a cop at PRES. He is there now, and I am sure it makes the school safer. It certainly puts me more at ease every day. 20 six year old children were shot numerous times in a school just a few towns over from here, only a month ago. Shot and bloodied beyond recognition. Not a very nice image is it. 26 families had there lives ruined and had to prepare funerals rather than play with toys, on Christmas week. think about it. Do what we can to not make it easy for it to ever happen here. I beg you! View Comment
Where can I apply for the 'lamp post' consultant position? I assume there is a long line of cronies before me, but I am happy to accept wasted donor money for nothing from another dopey 'wanna be a politician' committee. $7k and i will tell you anything you want to know about street lights. This story belongs to be posted below the 4th 'dog complaint' in the police blotter. I really have to run now, the desk lamp in my office is causing me an awful rash and chest cough. Give me a break.
