The Flood Watch will remain in effect from 2 p.m. Wednesday through noon on Thursday. NWS representatives said "rain with an approaching frontal system should become heavy by late day Wednesday," according to a press release.
"Flooding of urban, low lying and poor drainage areas is possible as early as the Wednesday evening rush hour, with 1 to 2 inches of rain expected by that time," NWS representatives said, according to the release. "As the heavy rain continues Wednesday night, storm total rainfall will increase to 2.5 to 3.5 inches with locally higher amounts, increasing the threat of widespread, significant urban, low lying and poor drainage flooding, as well as flooding of small streams and rivers."
Residents are advised to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.
The latest front is expected to clear from the area overnight on Thursday.
