There was a steady stream of visitors filing in and out of the Westchester Funeral Home at the first of the day’s two scheduled public viewings. Westchester County police officers were parked outside the building, helping to control the traffic on Main Street and to escort well-wishers across the street to the packed parking lot.
At the conclusion of the first visiting hours, an exodus of cars – with license plates from around the country – crowded Main Street following countless hugs and handshakes in front of the funeral home.
Loved ones will have one more chance to say goodbye to Forgione, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe. Entombment will follow at the Ferncliff Mausoleum in Hartsdale.
Forgione, 60, was the owner of Frank’s Landscaping on Interlaken Drive. He was reported missing Oct. 18, when he was last seen at approximately 2 a.m. after dining in Armonk. An autopsy confirmed that he did not suffer bodily injuries.
The Westchester Funeral Home dedicated a page to Forgione on its website for friends and loved ones to send condolences or tell stories.
