Police in Tuckahoe are seeking the public’s assistance as they search for the family of a pit bull that was found by patrol officers in the village overnight.

Officers on patrol at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning spotted the dog near the intersection of Main Street and Midland Place without tags or other identifying information.

Police said that they are hopeful to reunite the pit bull - which is brown with white markings on its face, chest and paws - with its family. Anyone with information or who recognizes the dog has been asked to contact the Tuckahoe Police Department by calling (914) 961-4800 or leaving a message on Facebook.
