EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The Tuckahoe Public Library is kicking off its summer reading program on Friday, and the Bronxville Library will have therapy dogs to help young readers on Saturday. See our Events page for a full listing of things to do around Eastchester.

Friday, June 2

Summer Reading Kickoff: 11 a.m. Animals from the Green Meadows Farm in Floral Park, N.Y., will visit the Tuckahoe Public Library to kick off the summer reading program. There will be music and farm animals to pet for all ages. Register at the library or by calling 914-961-2121. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Film Series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its adult film series with "Mission Impossible IV," starring Tom Cruise. The run time is 133 minutes. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.

Family Film: 3:30 to 5 p.m. The Bronxville Public Library will play a movie for families in the Yeager Room. This week’s selection is “Mary Kate and Ashley: How the West Was Fun.” 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Saturday, June 30

Reading With Dogs: 11 a.m. to noon. “Paws for Tales’ will be at the Bronxville Public Library. This program is open to independent readers older than 7 who want to practice their reading skills aloud. Registration is required. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Benefit Concert: 7:30 p.m. Join WDFH 90.3 FM for a night of music from three area bands: “Phineas and the Lonely Leaves,” “Giant Cicada” and “Hope Machine.” They will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Woody Guthrie and raising money to keep WDFH on the air. $20. 31 Fullerton Ave., Yonkers.

Saturday Worship: 5:30 p.m. The Village Lutheran Church will have a Saturday service. 172 White Plains Road, Bronxville.

Sunday, July 1

Sunday Service: 10 a.m. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church has a Holy Eucharist followed by a coffee hour. This Sunday is Children’s Sunday. 98 Stewart Ave., Eastchester.
