EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Eastchester police are continuing their investigation into a pair of suspects believed to have burglarized several local residences over the last few days.
Police officials confirmed that several homes and apartments have been burglarized recently, though residents' errors may have been involved and certain doors and windows may not have been locked when the inhabitants went to sleep.
The burglaries took place in the vicinity of Garth and Overhill roads, with several notable robberies in the Garth Essex Apartment complex near the Scarsdale border.
“It’s a nice area, but this just goes to show that you have to be careful everywhere you go,” Brian Ford said outside the complex Tuesday afternoon. “They’ll track down whoever is doing this and hopefully they throw the book at them.”
Homeowners have been advised that the holiday season is a hotbed for activity like this, and they should take every precaution in locking up both cars and residences.
