Nixon, a television actor and education activist, is challenging Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New Castle in the September Democratic Party primary election.

Abinanti, who also represents Greenburgh, cited Nixon's "bold agenda that focuses on a New York for the many."

Nixon, best known for her TV acting on "Sex And The City," joined  Abinanti at Pierson Park where they discussed community concerns about the new "Governor Mario M. Cuomo/Tappan Zee Bridge."

At the bridge, Nixon and Abinanti discussed transparency issues surrounding Cuomo’s project and the toll concerns of motorists from Westchester and Rockland counties.

“Abinanti has proudly served 92nd Assembly District and his community over the last seven years,” Nixon said. “He is a true advocate for local issues and I am honored to have his endorsement and look forward to working with him in the Assembly as governor. I share his concerns about the lack of transparency around Governor Mario M. Cuomo/Tappan Zee Bridge and I urge the Governor to release the relevant documents to the media immediately. I also share the Assembly member's concerns on the financial impact that cashless tolling has on so many middle class families.”

Abinanti is the chairman of the Commission on Government Administration and is a member of the committees on Health, Judiciary, Codes, Election Law, Environmental Conservation, and Corporations, Authorities and Commissions.

He represents the 92nd district which includes the towns of Greenburgh and Mount Pleasant, the villages of Ardsley, Elmsford, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, Pleasantville, Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow and part of the Village of Briarcliff Manor.

“I’m excited to welcome Cynthia to Greenburgh and endorse her for Governor,” Abinanti said. “She is independent -- not beholden to big money or the political establishment."

"Every day, she walks and talks with average New Yorkers," Abinanti said. "She gets it and will make New York work for us. She will pass New York Medicare For All, act to preserve our environment, help people with special needs -- and fill the potholes. She will stop the pay-to-play corruption in Albany. She won’t forget us.”
