Volunteers from the organization will be at four sites around the city on Tuesday to register new voters, register voters who have moved, supply absentee applications and answer questions potential voters may have.
According to the League of Women Voters, National Voter Registration Day became an official holiday in 2012, which has grown to include 3,500 organizations who registered an estimated 750,000 voters last year.
On Tuesday, the League of Women Voters will be at:
- Stop and Shop on Palmer Avenue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Monroe College on Main Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- College of New Rochelle (Sweeney Hall) from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
- New Rochelle Public Library from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Voter registration forms are also available at City Hall, the library and the Westchester County Board of Elections in White Plains.
