WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. --Westchester residents could be seeing an increase in their county taxes next year.

The Board of Legislators reached a deal on a $1.8 billion budget that increases taxes by two percent Friday. Majority Leader Catherine Borgia (D-Ossining) said they have enough votes to override a veto by County Executive Rob Astorino (R-Mount Pleasant), who has vowed not to increase taxes and has not proposed a budget with a tax increase since he took office.

Astorino was defeated in his bid for a  third term last month by George Latimer.

The budget scraps the $30 million Astorino said the county would receive from privatizing Westchester County Airport and increases funding for non-profits and adds positions on the county executive's office and department of public works.

Starting Monday, Astorino will have five days to issue line-item vetoes or 10 days to veto the entire budget.
