Week Of Fourth Of July Fireworks In North Westchester

CORTLANDT, N.Y. - Here are some regional fireworks celebrations. Be sure to check the date, since not all fall on the Fourth of July.

Saturday, June 30

Lewisboro Fireworks Spectacular: The Town of Lewisboro will have its 14th annual Fireworks Spectacular at Onatru Farm Park, Elmwood Road, South Salem. There will be live music, food vendors and a special visit by Uncle Sam. Fireworks begin about 9:15 p.m.

Pound Ridge Fireworks: Fireworks start at dusk, about 9 p.m. The gathering begins at 6 p.m. in the town park as people bring picnic dinners; there is live music, and Boy Scouts will sell hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments.

Tuesday, July 3

Ossining Fireworks: 7:15 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Music starts at 7:15 with the band Over the Top doing classic rock and dance music until 9:15. The fireworks show will go off at 9:15 and again at 10 p.m. Phil Ishmael's Band will finish the night with classic rock and funk. Food vendors will be present. Kensico Dam Plaza: The annual free Kensico Dam Music Fest will feature a performance by the Bensen-Scott Big Band. Pre-concert entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. and the band will perform at 8 p.m. A fireworks display will follow about 9:15 p.m. Westchester County advises motorists to expect delays, as the Taconic State Parkway and the northbound Bronx River Parkway will be closed around Kensico Dam from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Wednesday, July 4

Peekskill Fireworks: Peekskill's annual Fourth of July fireworks will take place on the Riverfront Green at 9:30 p.m.

New Rochelle Fireworks: The “Spark the Sound” Independence Day Fireworks Display will begin at 9:30 p.m., rain or shine. Fireworks can be seen from waterfront parks and especially Hudson and Five Islands.

Pops, Patriots and Fireworks: 8 p.m. Michael Barrett leads the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in a all-Gershwin program with John Musto (piano), Jamie Bernstein (narrator), Darius DeHaas and Carla Jablonski (vocals). Gershwin's most famous works, including "Rhapsody in Blue," will be performed followed by a short fireworks display. Admission price varies.The concert takes place at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah.

Playland Fireworks: Fourth of July fireworks begin about 9:30 p.m. at Playland Amusement Park and will be choreographed to music. Playland is at 1 Playland Parkway, Rye.

Saturday, July 7

West Point Fourth of July Celebration: 8 p.m. The West Point Band will hold a Concert for Cadet Basic Training and a Fourth of July celebration with performances by the Hellcats, Concert Band and Benny Havens Band. Fireworks will take place after the concert at Trophy Point. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at Ike Hall Theatre.
