The 9- and 10-year-old team broke out the bats en route to an easy 15-0 win on Gedney Field in White Plains. They now await the winner of a Tuesday afternoon match-up between Ardsley and White Plains, which will determine their opponent.
Eastchester’s bats have stayed hot during the entire tournament, as the girls have averaged nearly 11 runs per game after topping Sherman Park 6-4 and White Plains 11-5 in the opening two rounds.
The battery of pitcher Maya DiNapoli and catcher Sophia Crowley has been dominant, accumulating 26 strikeouts in the first two games. Angelina Porcello, Bailey Hunn and Taryn Comizo have been doing it with the bat, hitting the ball and scoring runs at will.
Coach Frank DiNapoli said that other contributions have come from Sophia Viti, Sabrina Rocco, Sophia Lotto, Justine Ruvolo, Henriette Schmuck, Isabel Speropoulous, Danielle Pisacreta and Sinead Quinn.
The District 20 champion will be crowned at 5:45 p.m. on July 8 at McDowell Field in Ardsley at the championship game.
