Alkins finished second in the Federation Championship 200-meter, besting all but one of his competitors that descended upon Middletown High School for the event.

The senior’s second place finishing time established a school record and was one of the fastest in Section 1 and Westchester County History. With his high school career behind him, Alkins will move on to the next level, where he will compete as a member of the Binghamton Bearcats.

“Senior sprinting sensation Jon Alkins has proven one last time why he is one of the greatest athletes in Eastchester history,” Head Coach John D’Amico said. “In the concluding race of his career, Jon outran some of the fastest sprinters in the country.”
