Both the Junior and Senior Recreation Cheer teams are competing Feb. 11-12 in the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship at Walt Disney World.

The Tuckahoe Tigers Cheerleaders will be returning to defend their National title in the Senior Recreation Division.

This year the Tigers’ coaches Kaitlyn Partenza, Lori Romeo, Gabby Scottino, A.J. Pope and Megan Kleeman decided that their Junior Recreation team was also ready to take a shot at competing at a National and World level.

Pope, who is also the director, said he is determined to have Tuckahoe recognized as a cheer program that is nationally and world known. It will be a first time in Tuckahoe history to have two cheerleading teams competing at a National and World level, she said.

Both teams recently came in first place at the Empire Regionals on Long Island.
