Bronxville Residents Take To Dancing In The Street

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The streets of Bronxville were filled with the sounds and smells of summer on Thursday night, as residents tossed on their dancing shoes and enjoyed some local cuisine at the monthly summer concert series.

On Thursday, the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce shut down Park Place, lined the streets with tables and chairs and set the stage for Plan B, which has been a staple of the Summer Concert Series for years.

An audience of all ages flooded the Park Place, where some of Bronxville’s youngest members took the phrase “dancing in the street” literally, and created an impromptu dance floor in front of the band

Plan B, a classic rock and roll band comprised of Eastchester and Bronxville parents, played a series of hits from several decades. The band was a hit amongst the crowd, who got a kick out of seeing their neighbors rocking out.

“It’s funny, here they are on stage tonight, and I can just as easily run into one of them after work at the food store,” Jim Georges said at the concert. “They’re here every year and they’ve only gotten better.”

This was the second installment of the Bronxville Summer Concert Series, following last month’s performance by Sue and the Fun Ghouls at Leonard Morange Park. Next month, on Aug. 21, Third Stone will return to the park for the second consecutive year.

“It’s a perfect day for something like this. Get a beer, get a burger and listen to some music,” Jake Willis said. “I hopped off the train from work and could hear it. It’s cool to live in a community that holds things like this.”
