What To Do Around Eastchester This Weekend

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The beginning of D.A.R.E., an Eastchester High School ski trip and a film screening at the public library highlight some of the events planned around Eastchester this weekend.

Friday, Jan. 4

D.A.R.E.: The anti-drug and alcohol program begins in Greenvale Elementary School.

Fourth Grade night: Anne Hutchinson Elementary School will celebrate its fourth graders. Snow date is Jan. 11.

Film series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its winter film series with a screening of “Trouble With The Curve,” starring Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.

E-book Help: 3 p.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library will host its weekly class instructing adults about how to use e-books. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Weight loss crusade: 6 p.m. The Bronxville Wellness Sanctuary is offering a 180-day weight loss program. 90 days to lose weight and 90 days to learn how to keep it off. 14 Studio Arc, Bronxville.

Coffeehouse Concert: 8 p.m. Residents are invited to the Bronxville Women’s Club for a concert complete with treats. Bronxville’s Peter North will perform acoustic swing music with Joyce Balint. $5. 135 Midland Ave., Bronxville.

Music at the Park: 9:30 p.m. Park 143 Bistro will showcase guest artist John James playing rock and soul. Guests will receive a free Park Bellini. 143 Parkway Road, Bronxville.

Saturday, Jan. 5

Ski trip: Eastchester High School students will attend the first of two skiing trips upstate.

Babies And Bagels: 9:15 a.m. This informal, drop-in playgroup is for babies and toddlers with their moms, dads, caregivers and grandparents. All are welcome. No fee. Westchester Reform Temple, 255 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale.

Children’s Art Class: 9:45 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 can gain confidence in self-expression through painting, sculpting, drawing, collage, dramatic play and more at Gymboree. 450 Central Park Ave., Scarsdale

Animal Adventures: 11 a.m. Visit the Weinberg Nature Center for an hour-long adventure where kids can meet furry, feathery, scaly, slimy and cuddly animals. $3. 455 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale.
