What's Happening Around Eastchester This Week?

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – There will be plenty to do in Eastchester and Tuckahoe this week, as the public libraries host several events. There will be a town board meeting Tuesday to discuss the Eastchester Girl Scouts cabin. See our Events page for a complete list of local and county events.

Monday, Aug. 13

Preschool crafts:  3:30 to 4:30 p.m. There will be a Wild West-themed drawing a pasting activity at the Bronxville Public Library. For children ages 3 and older. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Teen crafts: 5 p.m. The Tuckahoe Library will have a craft night designed for teenagers. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Tuesday, Aug. 14

Computer help: 1 and 1:45 p.m. There will be a class designed to help adults get better acquainted with their personal computers. There will be one-on-one aid for those in need. Held at the Tuckahoe Public Library. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Summer reading concert: 7 to 8 p.m. Mr. Kurt will host a summer reading game concert for all ages on the Bronxville Library lawn. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Town Board meeting: 8 p.m. The Eastchester Town Board will meet with the public to discuss the possible eviction of the Girl Scouts from their cabin. 40 Mill Road, Eastchester.

Wednesday, Aug. 15

Dessert social: 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Bronxville Women’s Club is offering a series of weekly dessert socials on Wednesday afternoons through Aug. 15. Bring your lunch and spend the afternoon with friends. $10 for members; $15 for guests; $20 for nonmembers. 135 Midland Ave., Bronxville.

Film series: 12:30 p.m. The Tuckahoe Public Library will screen “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” a movie for adults. 71 Columbus Ave., Tuckahoe.

Social needlers: 11 a.m. to noon. Bring in a needlecraft project to work on while getting to know fellow handicrafters at the Bronxville Public Library. This is a social hour; no formal instruction will be given. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Scavenger hunt: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Gold rush! There will be a scavenger hunt for children ages 7 and up in the Bronxville Public Library Children’s Room. 201 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.
