What's Happening Around Eastchester This Week?

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – A variety of events are scheduled in and around Eastchester this week. Growlers Beer Bistro in Tuckahoe will host a Sierra Nevada beer adviser, and in Bronxville, Park Place will be shut down for a free concert. Monday, Aug. 27 

New You Challenge: 8:30 a.m. These classes explore different concepts of fitness, from developing endurance, core strength and flexibility to weight loss. 30 Elm St., Tuckahoe.

Summer drama program: 9 a.m. Kids can learn to act, sing and dance while performing their favorite musicals with Class Act Musical Youth Theater’s children’s summer program. This week, the children will be rehearsing “Honk” and “Guys and Dolls.” $170 for half-day kindergarteners; $260 for older children. 101 Pondfield Road, Bronxville.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

Film series: 1 p.m. The Eastchester Public Library will continue its summer film series with a screening of “Marty,” starring Ernest Borgnine. 11 Oakridge Place, Eastchester.

Childbirth class: 7:30 p.m. Lawrence Hospital is offering childbirth classes for expectant parents. Parents can attend class on three consecutive Tuesdays, or complete the entire session on a single Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class costs $200 per couple. 55 Palmer Ave., Bronxville. 

Wednesday, Aug. 29           

Sierra Nevada Tap-Takeover: 7 p.m. Meet Jan Apanich, the specialty beer adviser for Sierra Nevada, and taste seven different beers at Growlers Beer Bistro. 25 Main St., Tuckahoe.

Thursday, Aug. 30

Free concert: 6:30 p.m. A free outdoor concert will be offered on Park Place, featuring a currently unknown performer. The street will be closed to vehicular traffic, and food will be available from local merchants. 9 Park Place, Bronxville.
