The club, which includes both elementary and middle school players, sent 41 chess players for the team's first sponsored tournament of the year. The team sent 13 first-time players and 10 veterans who went to the Chess SuperNationals in Nashville last April. The Bronxville Chess Club won three first-place team trophies in the championship, reserve, and booster sections and one second-place team trophy in the primary novice section.
"It was a good chess day," representatives with the team said. "Congratulations to all chess team members--and good luck for the upcoming season."
