EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Eastchester High School lacrosse superstar Jordyn DiCostanzo set yet another school record as she netted her 200th career varsity goal in a loss to Edgemont High School over the weekend.
DiCostanzo , who is poised to become the first Eastchester athlete to start at a Division I program after committing to Manhattan College , again made school history when she scored the third of her five goals over the Panthers to become the first athlete – male or female – to reach the 200 goal milestone on the lacrosse field.
The 17-year-old attacker, who has proven to be a force both with the ball and on draws for the Eagles, got her start with the stick as a precocious youngster in the third- grade. She reached the 100 goal milestone as a sophomore and topped 200 career points last season.
In addition to starring for Eastchester, DiCostanzo – who has served as captain for several years - has also showcased her talents alongside some of New York’s finest as a member of the House of Sports Elite club lacrosse team.
DiCostanzo has been wowing fans of the Eagles since she was promoted to the starting varsity lineup in eighth grade. As a sophomore and junior, she received New York State Section I and All-League honors. She was also named the team’s most valuable player last season after totaling 65 goals and reaching several milestone accomplishments.
Now she has her 200th career goal as she gets set to continue her career at the next level.
"I chose Manhattan College for quite a few reasons," DiCostanzo said when announcing her commitment. " I really liked the campus and its proximity to New York City as well as to home, this way my family can come to see the Jaspers play."
