Eastchester Italian Citizens Club Presents Scholarships

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – The Eastchester Italian American Citizens Club presented more than a dozen scholarships to local graduating seniors at a recent cultural dinner event.

In all, 13 incoming college freshmen from Eastchester and Tuckahoe High School were awarded $1,000 scholarships from the organization following an essay contest. Alyssa Telesco received an additional, matching, “Nick Caffaro” scholarship for having the top piece.

There was a pair of honorees from the Tuckahoe High School, Alessandra Cirillo and Thomas Conroy. Joining Telesco from Eastchester was Marc Capparelli, Alyssa Raguso, Briana Balsamo, Gregory DiCarlo, Christina Zaccardi and Lauren Leal.

The Eastchester Italian American Citizens Club is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. Since 1976, the organization has provided more than $200,000 in scholarships to local students.
