TUCKAHOE, N.Y. Longtime Tuckahoe resident Joseph J. Mongelli died Feb. 6. He was 77.
He was born Oct. 9, 1934 to John and Florence Mongelli of Bronx, N.Y. He married Grace Santarpia on Oct. 20, 1957 and they lived most of their 54 years of married life in Tuckahoe. A former union carpenter, Mongelli worked in New York City. His favorite hobbies were gardening and dancing.
He is survived by his wife Grace, his sons John (Linda) Mongelli and Joseph (Heather) Mongelli, his sisters Mary Campanelli and Antoinette Masi, his brother Michael Mongelli and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Karen Mongelli and his sister Jean Valenti.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester. The funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne
