Westchester Reform Temple Names New President

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – After a lengthy nominating process, congregates of the Westchester Reform Temple have elected Scarsdale resident Helene Gray to serve as the synagogue’s next president.

Gray and her family have been members of the Westchester Reform Temple for more than a decade. She has been involved in various synagogue activities and boards and was co-chair of the Religious School Board and the Raising the Bar Committee.

At the synagogue, Gray is a member of the Early Childhood Center Task Force, the Nominating Committee, the Rabbinic Search Committee and the Shoah Awareness Committee. She teaches a Yiddish class and was vice president of the Westchester Reform Temple Board of Trustees.

The new president celebrates her faith outside the temple as well. She sits on the Board of the Overseers of the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Her work at the museum is dedicated to Holocaust remembrance and education.

Locally, Gray has served as an area chair for the UJA’s Scarsdale Women’s Campaign, and she previously was the treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Alumnae Association of Barnard College. All three of her children have graduated from the Westchester Reform Temple’s Early Childhood Center program and are currently enrolled in the religious school.
