Work has begun on the Tuckahoe Road overpass, over Route 100, as crews install a new concrete deck. The $2.6 million construction project is expected to continue through July. In the meantime, two lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained until work is completed.
The Tuckahoe Road bridge is one of 15 statewide, and four in the Hudson Valley, which will be replaced as part of a $44.5 million NY Works bridge project. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the infrastructure projects would create jobs while making critical repairs to the state’s infrastructure.
“These 15 projects which include both rehabilitating and replacing bridges across the state will make traveling in New York safer for drivers and achieve long-term savings for taxpayers,” he said in a statement announcing the project.
